Artist's Comments

I have finished the first part of the project I was working on since serveral days.
This painting is based on Revelation 17 and 18. The centeral figure is The Great Whore (that sitteth upon many waters: with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication) sitting on a HUGE beast. She moreover bears the title, "Mystery, Babylon the Great, The Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth". She is furthermore described as being "drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus." The Whore is painted with her cloathes on, since nakedness is symbol of Eve, and The Whore is kind of Anti-Eve. Then below the beast there is a cave, where a naked woman lies dead. It is in fact Eve, who died in sin. (The exaggerate darkness of the cave represents this.) On the colums there are a few symbolic objects (two screaming faces, a cross and a skull).

Here comes the thanks you list, with the respect of the respects for those artists:

I would like to encourage *YOU* to post your critiques so my next paintings could improve. Thanks a lot.
(P.S.: The original is in a lot bigger resolution, so if there will be a few interested people I will upload some close-ups.)

Six feet deep is the incision
In my heart, that barless prison
Discoulours all with tunnel vision

P.S.: I'm glad that there where more then 40 visitors in the first hour. (And that is after 3AM...)

I'm glad you like it. The reptile/lizard/beast was done using a great photo reference from =myothergallery [link]
The masking and colouring was done in Photoshop using adj. layers and layer mask, and a layer above it containing the colour. Then after the ref. was made this way I painted it with my Intuos 3.
